SnapManager SQL Errors

Hi, We're just setting up a new SQL server with a SMSQL backup job and we're seeing the following DBCC errors. The SM SQL job has been re-installed and the job setup again as per other servers (ie its the first time we've seen the error). There is also an initiator error but we're not sure why thats listed as an issue - it through the initiator and that IP that the SAN lun's are connected in the first place - [09:22:04.916] *** VERIFY DATABASE AFTER BACKUP 09:22:04.916] Collecting verification information... [09:22:04.916] Getting database backup information from SnapInfo file... [09:22:04.916] Running verification from local server.... [09:22:04.931] Mounting Snapshot [sqlsnap__server-sql1__recent] for Virtual Disk F of Computer server-sql1 [09:22:05.322] WARNING: Unable to get default mount point directory [09:22:05.322] Snapshot will be mounted on subdirectory [MPDisk001] [09:22:05.681] [SnapDrive Error]: There are no initiators connected to the filer "10.1.46.1". (SnapDrive Error Code: 0xc00402e6) [09:22:05.697] Error Code: 0xc00408f0 There are no initiators connected to the filer from verification server. Oliver pointed me in the right direction - After the email to check the preferred SAN address I noticed the SAN was connected via the Data VLAN and not the iSCSI VLAN. The DBA's had also renamed the server which meant the initiator was keeping the drive mapped but it was possibly affecting mounting the snaps – I disconnected and reconnected with an updated initiator name to match the new server name & reconnected on the correct VLAN and it sorted things out. Hi, Its a Windows 2003 sp 2 VM server (running on ESX 3.5) using SnapDrive 4.2.1 and SMSQL 2.1.1 and SQL 2005 Three luns f:/g:/h: for database, logs & tmpdb Verification server is the same as the SQL server (ie it does its own dbcc check) The SAN connection is via IP address - what needs to be able to resolve to what ? The SQL server can resolve the SAN and vice versa. Cheers, Raj. There is no approved or unapproved way to do this. It's not possible. The closest thing you can do is to put a Datafort in front of the controller and encrypt everything. Then you can shred the keys that encrypted the files in question. SNMP netapp mib question

Hey Guys, So I have used toasterview in the past without any issues, but today I installed it at my new job and I have a question. When running an snmpwalk against the filer, and running the command uptime I see the filer uptime as DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = Timeticks: (1664185295) 192 days, 14:44:12.95 But when toastview runs it pulls cpuUpTime for the system uptime shows as 9:23:36:01.60 So my question is what is the difference between cpuUpTime and sysUpTimeInstance ? Would like a list with a description/explanation of the /etc/ files - do you know if there is a such? What I'm looking for is something that would e.g. explain something like: *** /etc/rc - The /etc/rc file contains commands that the storage system executes at boot time to configure the system. Is there a way to destroy a plex with out killing the aggr on it?

I have enough free space, but when I built my aggregate I didn't have the raid size set properly, so now I have one plex with only 4 disks. Not a good thing when using DP. Is there a way I can blow this away and add those disks to other raid groups with out loosing all my data? Jeremy M. Qtree UGO permissions

When I create a qtree on my 7.2.4 filer the default permissions are 777. Is there an option to modify this default behavior? Thanks -Robert
