Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this? I couldn't find anything at
NOW.
Some build engineers are reporting that they're unable to change file
permissions with the UWIN chmod command on my filers. (UWIN is a set of
UNIX utilities for windows.)
They're able to chmod files on another filer, and on samba shares, but when
they try to chmod files on my filer they get permissions denied.
Permissions and ownerships look right. They can create, edit, and delete
the files via CIFS. They can do the chmod from a UNIX client and it works
fine.
The only difference I'm aware of with my filer is that all my qtrees are in
UNIX mode, whereas the other filer in question is in mixed mode.
My gut instinct is to consider this a UWIN problem, but I'd be curious to
know if anyone else has had experience with this.
