Help with FTP required

Can anyone tell me whether enabling FTP requires a filer reboot. I am running an F720 and would like to make sure that I do not upset any of our users. mailbox disks invaild ?

Hi fellow toasters, I am seeing "but takeover of partner is disabled due to reason : mailbox disks invalid." error in messages. We have two F630s that are "suppose" to be clustered (Fiber) but failed due to above problem. Also, there are a lot of "Data underrun" errors on root volume disks in the messages as well. According to the NOW site, I could run fctest to find out if there is any hardware problems which I am planning on doing. Just wondering if anyone has seen this problem or has experienced it before. Flawless NetBIOS boot disk: http://www.bovistech.com/detect.htm Simply edit the autoexec.bat to reflect your workgroup/domain name and you're golden! Autodetects most NICs, randomizes the netbios name, has generic CDROM drivers, disk utilities, etc... It's a real keeper! I've had problems using it to GHOST files UP to the filer, but GHOST sessions fly down. How did you map the drive? Did you use the AutoExNT service as described at http://www.netapp.com/tech_library/3054.html ? We've had very good luck with it. Another thing you might want to check is that there are no "Advanced Revelation" NT services running as the 'System' account. Zekeriya, I would definately be interested in hearing if you get this to work. My company has a few DOS based lab workstations that I would like to connect to our Filers. The problem is that there is no utility/driver to provide the SMB protocol to DOS. You can get the IPX protocol for DOS but the Filers do not support IPX. We have not tried to build a NetWare server to act as a gateway though. In theory the DOS system could connect to the NetWare server using IPX. The NetWare server would have the NFS.nlm running to connect it to a Filer. I do something similar for our Macintosh users. I have a Linux box that uses NFS to connect to the Filers and then it runs the AppleShare protocol as a gateway for the Macs. Hi, we use operating system Solaris 8 on arbitrary SUN-hardware and Oracle 8.1.5 or higher and NetApp-ONTAB 5.3 (or higher) and want to use the snapmirror & cluster-technologie for Oracle-datafiles exactly as described in the technical documents TR3046 & TR3057 of Network Appliance. Network Appliance states that the fully support this!
