I wrote an script that RSH's to the filers, dumps the event log, copies it to a central location and renames it to the date that it was dumped. Set it up as scheduled task from an NT box and the auditiong dumps are take care of automatically - you just go to the central location to manipulate the evt files. As it is then a .evt file you should be able to use other tools that you currently use with event logs. Don't specifically know about csv file conversion... A long time since I figured out how to do this... From memory, you need to run the command 'CIFS AUDIT SAVE -f' on the filer console, that saves the logs to disk in the location '/etc/log/adtlog.evt' Sorry its a bit vague, but should enable you to generate a Event Log, that can be read by Event Viewer. Hi Matt: I've been using XP since beta 3, and have had no problems authenticating to any of our filers, ranging from ONTAP 6.0R2 to 6.1.1R1P1... We just installed our first windows xp pro client - and can't authenticate to our 720. We keep getting a password error. We can authenticate to Totalnet and samba - so plain text passwords appear to be working from XP. Does anybody else have this working ? We are running 6.0.1R3 on our Filer. Converting Netcache C760 to F760.

Hello friends, I have a Netcache C760 which I would like to convert to filer F760. Has any one tired to do this?. I want to do this just for evaluation of snapmirror. qtree and quota

6.1R1 /vol/vol_sapdevdata/oracle/D01/ mount on /oracle/D01 /vol/vol_sapdevdata/oracle/D01/sapdata1 mount on /oracle/D01/sapdata1 /vol/vol_sapdevdata/oracle/D01/sapdata2 mount on /oracle/D01/sapdata2 ...... I want to keep track of disk space for each of these mount points. What is the best way to do this? I cannot create a qtree inside a qtree. For example qtree create /vol/vol_sapdevdata/oracle (this works) qtree create /vol/vol_sapdevdata/oracle/D01/sapdata1(does not work) Thanks, Debbie

Leonard, We're using gigE cards (X1025B) for dedicated network to Oracle databases/server on 2 F740s & have experienced very good performance from them. Use slots 8, 7 or 6, in that order of preference. If you have those slots populated, with FC or SCSI adapters for instance, move one of the FC adapters to slots 3, 2 or 1, in that preference. Slot 8 will probably be available, though; use it if you can. We've supported this configuration on both DOT 5.xxx & 6.xxx.
