I have been running ONTAP 7 RC 4 just over 2 weeks and I have been quite
happy with it. One of the first things I did was to move my /etc to a
virtual volume and it saved an bunch of space and let me put those two
drives back into productive use.
Setting up new virtual volumes is great. This is much cleaner that
using qtree w/quotas.

Subject: OnTap 7.0 RC5 ??? Any news on a GA or FCS release ?
Hi -
Anyone know or heard when ONTAP 7.0 is likely to go to GA or FCS ?
RC1 was announced on 27th Oct 2004 and we are now at RC5 ! The suspense
is killing me :o)
Anyone running with the RC versions ? If so, does it live up to what it
says it claims to do ?
Any feedback good/bad would be appreaciated...
Many thanks,

Hi
We have 7.0rc4 and its works for use. This machine has only uptime for 8 days now.
We also try with ldap and ldap.usermap enable. The major benefit as I see this is not wasting so much disk.
Today only 50% of disk is useful. This machine is a r200 so it is not so much loaded (yet).
I have nothing bad to say yet.

Hello
Someone told me that Ontap 7.0 RC2 could use a
Samba 3.0.10 server as PDC ?
Any Netapp guru could confirm this ?
Thanks a lot .

My memory fails me, but I remember some discussion a few months back
about an upgrade changing the interpretation of the quotas file. (GB vs
MB or something like that.) Anyone recall that problem?
I couldn't find anything on now...
Thanks,
-MikeC

Hi all,
Is there a way to specify a block of IP address's. E.g.
deny client-ip 192.168.1.10 though 192.168.1.150. I want to create a
single line ACL to enable/disable a block of IP's.
Any help?
