Dell SCv2020 supported disks type

Hi all, quick question regarding the DELL SCv2020. Does it support SATA disks ? or only SAS and NL SAS? Thanks in advance, C.

IBM nSeries autosupport not working over HTTPS

We just had a disk failure on a nSeries box. No big deal. Usually when a problem come up, autosuport gets sent, and IBM nSeries support shoots us an email back within minutes to work on the problem. This time I had nothing from them for hours. So I ran a manual autosupport and opened a case. IBM responded almost immediately. He said they had my manually sent autosupport but said it was corrupt and unusable. Hmmmmmmm We use HTTPS for autosupport since SMTP failed due to attachments being too big for our email setup. He asked me to change to SMTP and run autosupport again, which I did, and he got it and it was good. Interesting, the attachments must have made it through. Now, the fun . . . He said they hadn't received a autosupport since 12/19/2016. It's a known problem within IBM and they haven't been able to fix. My impression is that anyone using HTTPS autosupport is affected. He thinks changing to HTTP will fix it if we don't want SMTP. I have to open another case to get more info. So, autosupports haven't been working for over a month, the problem is within IBM, and nothing was said!!!! Can I say that we are just a little upset? Ontap Select-a couple of questions

Hello everybody, I'm planning to setup a 9.1 Ontap Select single node for demo and tests. I've read that prerequisites are almost strict. They ask for at least 8 HDDs and 2 TB + 266 GB hd space on the internal VMFS datastore where to put the Select vmdk. For demo I don't have such a server, there's enough RAM and cores but just few hdds Raid 5 protected. Do you think I could set up Select with no issues or there's some soft/hard lock that avoid to do it if less than 8 hdds are found? The secondo question is this. Times ago I was reading somewhere that Select could be supported on a VSAN datastore too. Do you have some news about this? Regards,

System attention LED

Hi there, I have two filers (1x FAS2240 and 1x FAS2650) and both have the system attention LED lit and I have no idea why. `System health status show` as well as config advisor are both A-OK and there are no visible indicators why this LED is still lit. Any idea how to find out the root cause of this LED on the front bezel or how I can check or maybe reset the status of the LED through CLI? Volume Encryption Hardware

Hello I'm trying to find an official list of which hardware supports the new 9.1 Netapp Volume Encryption (NVE) feature. I've checked HWU and can't see anything that shows NVE compatibility. I've also tried IMT but I've never been able to get along with that tool. Specifically, I'm trying to find out if the FAS2500 series or new FAS2650 platforms support this feature. I've listened to TechOnTap podcast #59 in which the speakers discuss NVE but I'm now looking for the "official" documentation on hardware support. Any pointers to the right docs would be greatly appreciated! Kind regards Steve

cDOT 9.0: inodes not growing with respective volume growth

Hi All, I've noticed the following on cDOT 9.0 production cluster: na201::> df -h vol_imgstore03 Filesystem total used avail capacity Mounted on Vserver /vol/vol_imgstore03/ 90TB 60TB 29TB 67% /vol_imgstore03 na201svm-nfs10g-02 /vol/vol_imgstore03/.snapshot 0B 0B 0B 0% /vol_imgstore03/.snapshot na201svm-nfs10g-02 2 entries were displayed. na201::> vol show vol_imgstore03 -fields files vserver volume files ------------------ -------------- -------- na201svm-nfs10g-02 vol_imgstore03 59999998 So, volume's size is 90TB and its current max inodes possible is ~ 60M na201::> vol size vol_imgstore03 +10g -vserver na201svm-nfs10g-02 vol size: Volume "na201svm-nfs10g-02:vol_imgstore03" size set to 90.01t. Now, I just added 10G to the volume, expecting it's going to increase the "files" value respectively: na201::> vol show vol_imgstore03 -fields files vserver volume files ------------------ -------------- -------- na201svm-nfs10g-02 vol_imgstore03 59999998 However it's not the case.
