flexvol disk stats

Hi, I need to find disk statistics for an environment that uses flexvols. I used to run "pvstats" written by Ben Swartzlander <bswartz(a)netapp.com>but that does not work in an flexvol environment. I need something similar to that for be able to tell management where we stand. I would appreciate to hear from you if you have something similar or if you perhaps modified Ben's code to work in an flexvol environment and you're willing to share. How to correctly transfer disk between cluster heads without initiating autosupport/RMA?

Hi, We have FAS920c DOT 7.0.6 with software based ownership and need to rearrange disks between heads. IBM 3500 Library commands from Nearstore R200

I've just added a SAN based IBM 3500 (with 3592 EO5 drives in it) to my Nearstore R200 running 7.2.4. I now see a changer "mc0" on the filer. I'd like to test the datapath to the drive from the filer and run a filer dump command, but the IBM guys say there is no way to mount a tape via their web interface. (I have yet to configure the changer in Tivoli) Is there autochanger commands in OnTap ? I want to mount a tape via OnTap. I don't see any reference in the Data Protection Guide.... TIA -Bob

Testing autosupport (not doit)

Does anyone know of a method to test autosupport notifications (sent to netapp) via https post? Options autosupport.doit only tests via mail apparently. I've got a student who's filer isn't sending out notifications and I wanted to have him kick of a test. We saw something similar with the same setup, the service wouldn't start during the install. We got round it by logging on as the snapdrive service account and installing it whilst logged on as that (I an assuming you've set up your service account with the right permissions etc as covered in the snapdrive admin guide). X282B-R5 drives supported on FAS3020?

vol autosize setting?

Is there a way to tell 'vol autosize' when it should jump to the next incremental increase. From my tests it look like it increases the volume size to the next increment when the volume reaches around 85% full. Is there a way to change that to say 90 or 95% full? Thanks -- Romeo Theriault

Automatically delete snapshots based on number and not space availability

Greetings, I take a daily snapshots (named ss-YYYYMMDDHHmm) of several volumes on my filers. I would like to automatically delete the oldest snapshot (assuming it's not busy) when a certain number of snapshots are present in the volume (ie, only keep the latest 3 snapshots). Is this possible? If not, does anyone have any scripts where it can be done from a host? If you have snapdrive installed, then you can use the snapdrive CLI to create the snap from the host. The other options are rsh or ssh to the filer to create the snapshot. I must do the snapshots from the host side in order to quiesce the filesystem (actually, the database). My databases run on LUNs over FCP. If midnight isn't suitable you can configure the hourly option to take one hourly per day and keep 3.
