qtree copy ?

I just upgraded to 6.4.1 this weekend and added a disk shelf to my f810. I had to move some of my projects from one volume to another and couldnt find like a qtree copy to move a part of the volume. I had to use tar from a unix host. Would it not be a nice feature to have something that doesnt involve the network and just goes with the disk shelves. Wafliron/WAFL_check in read only mode/tell me if something is wrong, but don't fix mode

Hi, Due to a snapmirror failing issue, NetApp support have advised us to run wafliron (online) or WAFL_check (offline) on the source volume. They have advised us that there's no way to check a volume while online for errors - a 'tell me if I need to run WAFL_check in fix mode, but don't do anything now' (I realise that WAFL_check prompts before fixing) The issue is that we do not want to schedule offline maintenance with an unkown end time when we don't know if there's anything wrong with the filesystem. We expect that the check to take several hrs as we have 13.5m files & 340G in the volume. Have other run into this before? hi, Type bit scan done on vol The message is part of the inode file upgrade scan that generally occurs after the filer is upgraded to a new major Data ONTAP release, or after WAFL_check is run. Re: Quota usage non-zero but no files to account for it

Towards the end of July I attempted to post about this problem to toasters, but mathworks took a dislike to the messages for some reason, and so you may not have seen them. Summary of the original problem: when removing the home directory for a particular cancelled account, the usage accounted against quota did not fall to zero, but to 1376 KB and 896 inodes. No trace of these 896 files could be found within the filing system, but "quota off" & "quota on" exactly regenerated the usage values. Since then I have had the opportunity to run "wafliron" on ("vol copy"s of) the filing system, and it recovered exactly the lost 896 files into /lost+found. Some detective work suggests that the inodes got detached from the filing system almost as soon as they had been created (over 2 years ago): there is evidence of an unzip by the user going over quota being involved. At that time we were running 6.1R1. It is possibly significant that 896 is exactly 7 blocks worth of directory entries, provided the names are short enough. Chris Thompson Email: cet1(a)cam.ac.uk

snapmirror perf in loopback mode (36Gb/hr)

hi all, i can't be sure of the following point : if i set up a snapmirror on a single filer from one vol to another one, (without using the network as in two filer snapmirror configuration) does the snapmirror throughput is limited to the pseudo device loopback limit ? (internal ontapp coded limit of 36Gb/hr (100BT)) or does it can go above this limit ? i think it was limited to 36Gb in older version of dot and was corrected in newer versions, if true, do we need to make a dot upgrade for our machine in 613r2 ? fanku much in advance -- jetez un oeil ici http://www.sensiva.com/ -- -- have a look here http://www.sensiva.com/ --
