You didn't say what you were trying to map it for, but you could set it up in User Manager for Domains as the home directory and have it map that way. If you plan on having more than 1 mapping now or down the road, I might suggest you look at s product called Scriptlogic. I have no problems mapping the drive once I am logged on but would like it so that when a user logs onto the 2000 machine the drive gets mapped automatically. I have followed the microsoft suggestion which is copying the autoexnt, instexnt and servmess.dll files to the winnt/system32 root. I have also created a batch file whcih contains the following line 'net use j: \\filer\x03. I have tried the starting the service with the local account and also the administrators account but still nothing. I have also added another command to the batch file (md test) and when the service is started it creates the directory test but does not map the drive. Hello; Check out Microsoft QArticle 250267, which talks about using some resource kit utilities; getsid and subinacl. Using these utilities, there isn't a problem migrating local security group ACLs from one server to another. We utilized this procedure when migrating data to our filer, and worked well - though it can take a long time, depending on the amount of data. Is a good idea to run one process per group at the same time, and not do them one after the other. Only problem with ROBOCOPY comes to bear when migrating data where LOCAL groups are used in file level ACL's because the SID is different across filers. NetApp User Group for the UK

This is just a quick note to clear up any confusion about an e-mail many of you may have received from Linda Symons of LS Consulting Services. Linda is working with me to explore the requirement of our users for an Independent NetApp user group in the UK. The process so far has been to meet and discuss with 8-10 customers who expressed an interest in being involved in an Independent group. From this it was agreed to survey broader customer base to determine broader interest. And dependent on results to build a user event to kick-off User group. The event would be built upon the issues that the users wanted to discuss. The e-mail you may have received is the survey step and is 100% endorsed by the NetApp UK Management team. Cluster failover and SIGLOST

When failing over between machines in a cluster, how transparent will this be in the area of NFS locks? Does the NetApp notify the client machines and ask them to reclaim the locks (potentially generating SIGLOST), or is the locking info synchronised between machines in the cluster so that it doesn't need to do that?
