We're moving to NetApp storage for our Oracle database (Sun E6500) and
have a single F760 with 4 36GB shelves - about 1TB raw (I know usable
storage will be way less than this). We will be moving to a cluster in
about 4 months, but wish to use as a semi-live development environment
in the meantime.
What is a recommended volume configuration for this sort of situation
? Current thoughts on our end are two physical volumes, two shelves in
each, and split each physical volume into two qtrees/mountpoints. Once
we have the cluster partner, we would expect to move one of the physical
volumes to the new head, and spread load across them.
What are other people doing here ?
