Ontap 6.5.1R1 CPU usage

I have a netapp F760 serving nfs, it is running Ontap 6.5.1R1 but the CPU usage is 100% when it reaches 10Kops/sec !! The old 740 never reached 100%cpu with Ontap 6.3.x with 10Kops/sec. Why 6.5.1R1 is using so much cpu running only nfs (no mirror, no quota, no atime, no snapshots) ??? Does the 6.5.2R1 solve this problem ? Can I downgrade to 6.4.5 with just untar the archive on root volume, install and type 'donwload' on console ? (or it will conflict with 6.5.2R1 ?) Thanks Cédric

Vscan Error: Internal Server Error

Hi Toasters, I have been getting vscan error on our filer. Fri Sep 24 14:26:27 SGT [toaster01: rpc_0:warning]: CIFS: Virus scanner 192.168.1.45 completed a scan on modified file ONTAP_ADMIN$\vol\toaster01_Vol2\Home\alfredbk\Windows NT 4.0 User Profile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\0H2NKPMB\yahoo.htm for client 192.168.5.21 (WORKSTATION55) as user alfredbk but returned the following status: [0x5] and status message: Internal server error I know that it is a common error. Anyone know how to clear this error from the filer? Setting on the filer or setting on the vscan server. I am using Carrier Scan SAV 4.03 Cheers, Alfred

Snapdrive a necessity for MSCS and MS-SQL on Win2k/2k3

Toasters, Does anyone know if Snapdrive is a requirement for the use of iSCSI connected LUNs in conjunction with MS-SQL/win2k(3) clusters? From what I can tell, it is more a tool to simplify the management of the LUNs, associated drives and snapshots. My uncertainty stems from NetApp documentation continually mentioning SQL/iSCSI in conjunction with Snapdrive. Fiber cards on the filer

Hi all Can someone please tell me the Fiber cards that are supported by a FAS 250 and a R200? Also I'm looking at the SilkWorm 3250 fiber Switch any comments on this would be welcomed too. GB card in a 740 Filer

Is anybody using GB in a 740 Filer? The config on now says I can use a X1027B but somebody told me this card doesn't work??

X1027B (Copper Gigabit Ethernet) wasn't (isn't?) qualified in a F760, so we had to scrounge up a X1027A in the middle of the night during the downtime we had to install it. I'm not sure if X1027B wasn't qualified in the entire F700 series, or just the F760. We've got one 740 with 2 x GbE cards in it - part number X1025B (fibre). We've had them for a loooooong time, so they're probably not available anymore. However, they've worked without a hitch. Gig fibre cables

The 940FC that has just arrived has dual port gigabit fibre NICs. (Part number X1035B-C) Just looking through the installation workbook (for the NetApp not the gig card) it says that either 50 or 62 micron fibre cables can be used. I assume that the only difference between these two cable types is their quality and that either will work with the X1035B-C. Is this correct? TIA, - Michael
