Dear Sir, I am Mr.Michael Bala, a Sierra Leonian by nationality. Presently I am residing in a neighbouring Benin Republic on exile. After the war that ravaged my country for a couple of years, most of us in the military are under very tight scrutiny and constant oppression, thus necessitating my fleeing to Cotonou for safety. I've been reviewing some documentation on the NuView FLM product and it looks like it will fill my needs fine - move aged files from my primary filer to an R200 and allow rules to block storage of certain file types (i.e. .exe, .mp3, etc). With some help from members of the list who identified the card as an Intel Pro/1000 T Gigabit Ethernet card, I was able to procure one of these from our IT storage. File Creation Benchmarks

Has anyone here run any benchmark tests on file creation (large number of small files) similar to Postmark ? Are there any measurements from a real world web server kind of environment where a large number of small files are created continuously under heavy load ? Would like to hear if anyone has existing performance numbers in such a scenario. Thanks in advance, Sahana

SSH access - restricting commands?

Hi all, I'm running 7.0.1R1 on some filers and we need to give access to users to create qtrees. I've written a perl script wrapper around rsh (to be setuid unfortunately), but I was hoping that I could use SSH instead fot access control, especially if I could limit access to just a single command string or two from the client tool Has anyone else up SSH non-password access to just a specific command? The user's should NOT be able to login to the NetApp otherwise, they should only be able to do a limited and sanitized version of 'qtree create /vol/<volume>/<qtree> on the filer(s) we have deployed. Looking on now, I really don't see much explanation of how filer:/vol/root/etc/sshd/... is supposed to help me here with this issue, since I can't find a man page or docs on how to configure the SSHD on the Filter. Michael, In version 5.3 you can create virtual mappings and backup at the Qtree level that way. Not particularly helpful when you're using version 5.2 I know, but perhaps a move to 5.3 is in order?
