We currently have a DLT tape library connected to our F760 using the onboard HVD. We're going to change this out with a newer LTO2 library. The newer library uses LVD, so we have an HVD/LVD converter box. We also only use dump scripts to do our backups. It sounds like this should be as easy as - power off F760 - disconnect DLT library - connect LTO2 library with HVD/LVD converter - power on F760 - modify scripts in case any SCSI IDs have change Are there things we're overlooking. What I need to do, is to apply different user quotas to the same CIFS user accessing to differents directories (shares) inside the same qtree. You can apply tree quotas to a Qtree, then share out the Qtree as a CIFS share. NFS permissions

The File Access Management Guide says that I can use -anon=root on an exported path and users on any client will be able to access it. When I entered that parameter, I get an error that says, "UID in anon option is not a number". I need to be able to allow any user from any of 6 Unix machines the ability to access this NFS share. Converting Netcache to Filer

Hi everybody, Anyone have an idea to converting a Netcache to a Filer. I have only found this (see bellow), but if anyone have more detail about it... Thanks in advance. Laurent from an ok prompt ok unsetenv netcache? to turn it off, thereby making it a filer rather than a netcache, or ok setenv netcache? to turn it back into a netcache from a filer

[Fwd: More than one Admin machine for Netapps ???]

Anyone got any ideas about this one? I have a need to write a script to create qtrees on a Netapps Server. I have a UNIX Bourne shell script which does the job, however I need to set up windows permissions on them, specifically administrator = Full Access everyone = Read Access The default permissions are not appropriate when looked at from a Windows environment, so ideally I'd like to rewrite the script (it's not rocket science) to run from a windows environment and for it to carry on and do cacls operations on the qtree created. We've got Services for UNIX installed and have installed the Unix Tools but when I try to do an rsh to the Netapps, I get "permission denied" and "can't establish connection" messages. Anyone know how I can get around this? Can I somehow specify a second admin machine which is allowed to rsh? At the moment, the admin machine is a UNIX box. Resetting Parameters

What's the command to "unset" all the parameters and have a filer come up as if running 'setup'? I have a filer I setup on site in the US that needs to be shipped to the UK. I'd like it to prompt for new values immediately rather than wait for several processes to timeout and have someone login and run 'setup' again. 6.5.2R1 and F85 with external shelf ?

Hi I noticed the 6.5.2R1 is arrived :-) O happiness ! I read few days ago a note that told there is a problem between 6.5.2XX and F85 with an external shelf. Is this bug solved or do I have to wait to install another version onto our F85 "with shelf" ? Thanks -- Regards, Frank Bonnet
