FAS940 mapping drives?

Hi, i´ve got a problems with a FAS940 registered on Windows NT domain. When i use the quick setup to start the use the Filer, i do the changes to register the Domain with out any problems. I go to the Administrative Tools, Server Manager and i can see the Computer registered in the Domain but with out description, when i try to obtain properties of the computer i receive the next message "Access is denied". Checking the configuration the domain is "workgroup" and isn´t my domain "EPM_BOG", i execute again the quick setup and cifs setup, but the problem is the same. Any comments? Hi, I think you are out of luck and will have to add more disks. You need to have available space > 0 to create snapshots on a volume. And reserved space does not count as available space. Hi, Is anyone aware of a way I could reduce the size of a VLD using snapdrive? It is preventing snapdrive from creating snapshots and we do not want to add more disk to the volume. Any ideas? Thanks Mark, i'll check it out. This is what I'm finding out the hard way... User ACL's on a NFS mount? Wow... Doing mixed security makes for strange behaviours... And for me without a Domain Controller opens the door to the "useradmin" user db which is a whole nother ball of wax... Yes, if you are running ONTAP 6.2.1 or later. Issue a command like this: Filer> cifs shares -change cifs.homedir -umask 111 You may also want to use 133 to remove WRITE from group and other. Note that this umask also affects directory creation by CIFS clients. CIFS/NFS cross authentication

OK folks my brain is smoking... Or perhaps its *what* I'm smoking that's doing it... I'm trying to do a Mixed security qtree called "dlogs". My webmaster runs "Webtrends" on the access logs of our Webserver to gen stats for the big whigs. Whopp Dee Do.... So I want a NFS dir to dump the logs off of the Unix Webserver and then give her access on her PC where Webtrends is. So I create a qtree called "dlogs", and add the dir to /etc/exports and do a "cifs share dlogs" etc... I delete "everybody/Full Control" and add just the folks I want to have access to on the PC side. So the PC side works great. And the NFS side works fine with the mount command but when I try and "cd" into the dir on the remote host I get a "permission denied". Anybody have this problem already? Thanks -Bob B.

Hi Folks, Is it possible to set the umask on home directory "shares" in a UNIX security style qtree? Right now if a user creates a file from a pc the "execute" bit is set (755, -rwxr-xr-x) -C.

We're seeing garbled names on a bunch of directories on our F880. It looks like the problem is primarily isolated to directory names but there may be a few files that have it, too. The output is the same regardless of the terminal emulator used. ndmpcopyÂ incremental level

It looks like ndmpcpopy has only 3 level on increments.0,1,2. So i run 0 on 13th, 1 on 14th, 2 on 15th. What do I do on 16th?
