Try: Power off the filer. Power on the filer. enter "CTRL C" during the initilzation to get to the boot menu. I ran into something similar. During the boot sequence I typed in a ctrl + c to get to the OK prompt. Once at the OK prompt type "boot floppy" Similar to SUN systems. When your are at the OK prompt you can set some enviroment variables also. setenv floppy-boot? true Check the docs. Not sure what all the variables are. Veritas BackupExec 9

I've been able to backup my filer using BackupExec 8.5, but since upgrading to BackupExec 9 I get an error that BackupExec is unable to attach to one of the drives. All the permissions are correct (the BackupExec service account is in the Backup Operators group, and the Admin group while troubleshooting), and I'm using user-defined shares in BackupExec. Has anyone else been through this? Veritas support is drawing blanks on this. Steve Evans SDSU Foundation

Here is a useful script that can get data for mrtg without going negative when the numbers get really high. I am not an mrtg guru, this is just one way to fix the problem. Tar file with readme should be attached which explains how to setup the Target line in the mrtg config file. hope it works out for you... read the readme of course. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Are there a lot of people using the filer-mrtg "unsupported" package from Netapp. I found a few things buggy in it, i.e. It freaks when getting data on a 6.4.1 firmware level, and it freaks when the counters get too high, causing negative numbers and bad graphs. Fas 250's

After 4 years of running on our F760's we have approval to spend money on more storage. We are looking at various options and one of them is to continue using Netapps. I'd like to find out from the list your opinions on the Fas 250 and Fas270's. Performance compared to the rest of the Netapp line. Any other issues. Thanks in advance art hebert
