Yes, ndmpcopy can be used for data migration, and it works with full
volumes, qtrees and even plain directories. But no single file ndmpcopies
yet.
Regardless of the granularity of your dataset to be copied, a limited number
of incrementals are supported as well, so you will have to check the man
page along with the ndmpcopy utility you are using for this.
