Has anyone else seen this problem. Users have no problem getting to the filer. Configurations on DC seem to be correct. About WEB assistant in SQL Server

Hi, I am using SQL Server 2000,IIS,Windows 2000 server.I have created one Webtask and called that in insert and Update triggers.It works fine, i am getting the updated HTMLs.But the Question is: Suppose i am using it in my real site and from one client request gose to the server for the HTML.But the same time from some other client the updation has happend.The trigger fired and SQL server tries to Recreate the HTML file.Will it create any file not found problem or some thing?.Does SQL server itself handle that? Please send me reply if any one is using WEB task. Thank you Sundar.V

What mike really means to say is: ifconfig e0 mediatype 100tx-fd I've found in the past that the Cisco switchs won't immediately recognize the change in speed of the thing it's plugged into... try changing the speed to 100 full duplex on both sides, and then unplug and replug the port. 10/100 network problems

I have installed a new Cisco 3548 Switch. On the switch I set the port that my filer is plugged into to 100 full duplex and I get awefull throughput. I set the port to 10 full duplex and I get better throughput. What is problem here? Filer = F720 DataOnTap = 5.3.7R1 Quad 10/100 Network Card Mediatype on the network port is not auto. Oracle 7 and MS Exchange on Netapp 760

We are a new user to Netapp having just taken delivery of a 760, I have done some research into storing Oracle databases on these and can find no real problems. Does anybody out in "toaster land" have any gotcha's that they know of ? Also, we plan to store our MS Exchange information store on our filer, according to Microsoft this is not supported. comments ? Thanks David Surtees Business System Manager HUSCO International Inc.

RE: SUMMARY: F840 for F740 swap

I also completed a F760 for F840 swap this weekend. It sounds like your swap went much quicker than mine. Here are a list of "issues" we encountered: - First and foremost - NETAPP, QUIT PUTTING THE GROUNDING SCREWS ON THE SIDE OF THE FILER! It's _really_ difficult to get that screw loose when you can't remove the side panel!! (EMC Sym on one side, another filer on the other). We had to pull the disk tray above the filer, pull the rail, and be very dexterous to get the things loose. To top it all off, the 840 is in the same chassis! - We had the 2 840s and 6 disk trays included in the order for one of our other locations, everything was shipped there. We then FedEx'd the filers and the disk trays to another data center. The boxes looked like they had gone through Saigon. Dunno if it was out of the box, or because of shipping, but we ended up having a bad motherboard on one of the 840s, it would just reboot without warning after about 10-15 seconds. Thank God for the spares kit! - We added 3 drive trays to each filer. 2 of the drive trays shipped with an OS. Luckily, we put those 2 trays in the same cabinet. After a major annoyance, we booted with the floppies to each tray, destroyed the volume, and drudged through. - Of the 6 trays we received, only 4 fibre cables were in the boxes. Ugh! Only the box with the bad motherboard ran a parity recalc, presumably because we pulled the NVRAM battery and card when we swapped mobos. Both boxes made us do a Disk_FW upgrade. All in all, it went really well, even with the minor headaches. We followed the previously mentioned NOW article (Solution ID: 3.0.6869703.2865011) with no problems. The only differences were running a required disk_fw_update after the 840 reboot. Also, the original fibre channel card from the 740 wasn't supported in the 840. Fortunatley the 840 we got came with it's own FC card. However, it wouldn't go in slot 1, like we had on the 740 because it is a longer PCI card. This forced all the disks to be re-numbered, but it came up just fine. Also, the 840 ran a parity recalculation on all the disks. (Perhaps caused by the disk re-numbering?). This was a bit unexpected, and slightly panicy as all the disk lights were going nuts after we brought the 840 up. But the filer was serving up volumes just fine, so we trusted "The Force" and let it go. It finished a few hours later and all is well. We even added a new tray of disks to get us over 1TB!
