Hi,
I'm trying to setup a FC attached tape drive to the onboard FC ports (0c and 0d) of a FAS3210
From my understanding I need to change the FC port to an Initiator, however this requires a reboot.
FILER1> fcadmin config -t initiator 0d Thu Sep 1 11:54:21 GMT [fci.config.state:info]: Fibre channel target adapter 0d is in the PENDING (initiator) state. A reboot is required for the new adapter configuration to take effect.
Does anyone know if there is a way round having to reboot the filer ?
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
since the port type is set up by the kernel from the CFE/Loader environment variables on boot time there is no workaoround for this, even NetApp internal.
Sorry. :-)
