Has anyone used OSSV SnapVault to backup data from Windows, Unix, Linux and Sco. How does it handle Database files like
* Oracle - What needs to happen to the Database file before it is transmitted, and what is transmitted from the Server to the Filer Changes or whole database? * SQL - What needs to happen to the Database file before it is transmitted, and what is transmitted from the Server to the Filer ? * Informix -What needs to happen to the Database file before it is transmitted, and what is transmitted from the Server to the Filer ? * Lotus Notes - What needs to happen to the Database file before it is transmitted, and what is transmitted from the Server to the Filer ?
All help greatly appreciated

We have been using OSSV for a while for both Windows and Unix, but not for any Databases yet. AFAIK the current verison is yet to support database functions. It is expected in the next release Ver 3. But check out the version from SyncSort, they claim to have database support. But they have clients only for Windows for now. -G
