Antigen found =*.vbs fileWe're looking to retroactively implement a 100mb quota on most of our users. Many of these users are are above 100mb at the moment. My question is how does Filer treat a new quota if the user is already above the specified quota?
Will it fail, or just not allow any more writes to disk? I looked on the NOW site but I could not seem to find an answer to this question. Thanks in advance.
If memory serves, the filer will will check the user's quota when the file is being opened. If the user is above quota at that time, then the write will fail. If the user is not above the quota, the write will be permitted, no matter how far that write puts the user over his quota.

I was just playing with quotas for the first time on my filer yesterday and did the experiment on myself ... just in case. I set the quota for under what I knew I had and tried to create a new file ... it just told me that I was over quota and would not allow the write. Set my quota higher and created the file.
