I think this list has finally, after slightly more than 29 years, run its course, and unless I hear some cogent objections, I propose to turn it off on 30/6/2026.
I know it's been useful to some of you over the years, because you've been kind enough to tell me so. I will try to keep the archives up on a read-only basis somewhere; I suspect much of it is now of academic interest only, but deep in my grubby little soul I remain of an academic bent, so that's reason enough for me to try.
