Tavis, Once we get raid groups above 10 or so then we start using the double disk parity. That way you have to lose 3 disks in a raid group before you have data loss. No real issues, just if you are using vld's you'll need to convert them to lun's before you upgrade snapdrive. Also, make sure that you have all the SP and hotfixes installed as per the NetApp SnapDrive/SnapManager Documentation. One other issue is the licensing of the newer versions of SnapDrive & SnapManager. You'll have to consult your agreement to determine if you can upgrade. Also, these products are now licensed either on a per filer or per host basis. One of my filers (F740 running DataONTAP 6.3.3P3D1) has one RAID group with 12 data disks, one parity, one spare, currently over 90% full. We had a data disk fail just a couple of days ago. The message file says reconstruction took 1:13:35.71. Hi all I'm running snap manger for exchange version 1.1.1 and netapp drive same version on a windows 2000 box with exchange 5.5. Can I upgrade snap manger for exchange to version 3.6 and upgrade netapp drive as well? Any known issues with this? We use nuview or another name for it is VFM. I setup a replication policy to replicate the DB and logs from the snapshot dir (most recent) and replicate this to the R200. If single mailbox restore can open up the DB then the DB has got to be good, so if I can replicate the DB and logs back to the FAS 250 point snap manager for exchange to the replicated DB then I'm thinking I should be able to mount the DB and get outlook access to it. Hi Skip, Are you using SnapManager for Exchange? If so, then there is a new KB article on this topic which may be of interest. KB article 3990 is titled "Using SnapVault to Archive SnapManager for Exchange Backups Sets" and can be found on the NOW site. Hi all We have our exchange DB on a FAS 250. We take 3 snapshots of the logs and DB everyday. I want to know if I can replicate the most recent snapshot of the DB and logs to my R200, and if a disaster were to hit could I copy this DB back to the FAS 250 and mount it? We use single mailbox recover version 2.11 to restore emails and inboxes. If point this product to the replicated exchange DB on the R200 It does work the product does read the DB and I can recover inboxes and emails. So I guess my question is a snapshot of a DB once moved off of a fAS250 to an R200 can it be remounted by snap manger for exchange once the DB is copied back to the FAS? Hi all I am trying to make an argumetn for putting our exchange database (50 gigs) on a filer instead of a windows 2000 box with raid 5 array.
