you could try: 1. turn off cifs, use NFS to remove directories, turn CIFS on an ignore any errors 2. check the "cifs shares" list to if anything is being shared. ONTAP usually will not allow deletion of a directory if it is being shared out 3. check "cifs homedir" to see if anything is listed. If it is, delete any entries in the /etc/cifs_homedir.cfg file (or whatever the name is) and then run "cifs homedir load". Orphaned "Home" Folder

My colleague was unwisely experimenting with the automatically created Home Folder on a FAS3020 running 7.03 (basically changing it to a hidden share and changing it back again) and now the directories inside the Home Folder are exhibiting very odd behaviour. I cannot delete or rename any of the folders and although they are not in use, the error I get says that "The directory may be in use". To all intents and purposes this folder is now unusable. I have tried recreating it, running through the setup wizard etc but none of this works. I know this is a special folder, so what methods do I have of recovering it?
