snmp traps down/up-events

Hi toasters, i have a strange issue which i was not aware of right now. We had a reboot of one of our nearstores these days and i recognized within our monitoringtool that we had only two events for the system: 1. system cold start 2. appliances is overall status changed to critical Plus is got an e-mail from the system saying REBBOT but this was too a few seconds after the "System Cold start" . But the suprising fact about that is, that we first got the cold start and then the critical event. Shouldn't it be the other way round?!?! Right, but if you do that, you have to put all of non-qtreed data into a qtree on the destination. You can't do <dest_file>:/vol/<vol_name>/- as the destination. It won't work. You have to specify an actual qtree as the destination which means your data won't be in the root of the volume on the destination. See the syntax of the snapmirror.conf file. You can setup just like cron so that 1 runs on the 10s of each hour, 2 to run on the 15s, and the third to run at other times or other hours. I don't know of any way to setup to run one after the other and keep repeating. The initial will take a while to run, but incrementals should be short. I'm migrating data from an old to a new filer and we have lots of data in qtrees and a significant amount that is at the same directory level, but not in a qtree. Snapmirror serial execution?

Is there a way to make NetApp snapmirror updates run in serial? In other words, if I setup 3 snapmirror relationships, how can I get the first one to run, and then run the second one as soon as the first finishes, and then the third in the same fashion? You can have more that one shelf on the 270, so you might want to buy a cheap second hand shelf from zerowait, and attach that to the existing filer, migrate the data. Not too hard to do.
