Dear friend, I am Mrs. Becky Coleman wife to the late Chife Paul Coleman from Sierra Leon. I am writing you in absolute confidence primarily to seek your assistance to transfer our cash of thirty Million Dollars ($30,000.000.00) now in the custody of a private Security trust firm in Europe the money is in trunk boxes deposited and declared as Precious stones by my late Husband as a matter of fact the company does not know the content as money, although my husband made them to under stand that the boxes belongs to his foreign partner. Source of the money: My late Husband Chief Paul Coleman , a native of Mende District in the Northerh province of Sierra Leone, was the General Manager of Sierra Leone Mining co-operation (S.L.M.C.) Freetown . According to my Husband, this money was the income accrued from Mining Co-operation's over draft and minor sales. Before the peak of the civil war between the rebels forces of Major Paul Koroma and the combined forces of ECOMOG peace keeping operation that almost destroyed my country, following the forceful removal from power of the civilian elected President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah by the rebels. My Husband had already made arrangement for I and my two children to be evacuated to Ivory coast with the CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT he made with a security firm in Europe through the aid of U.N evacuation team. During the war in my country, and following the indiscriminate looting of Public and Government properties by the rebel forces, the Sierra Leone mining coop. Was one of the target looted and it was destroyed. My husband including other top Government functionaries were attaked and killed by the rebels in November 2000 because of his relationship with the civilian Government of Ahmed Tejan Kabbah. As a result of my husbands's death , and with the information we got that the rebelsa are out for us the burden became too much for me to handle coupled with the ill health of my dauther she died in the process as i could not afford her a decent medical care. access same files via SAN and NFS

Hi, I'm interested in setting up a volume that a NFS client can write files to via an NFS mount point and our TSM backup server can backup via a SAN connection. Can I setup a volume that can be accessed by both a NFS client and a SAN client? Netapp tech support says no but when reading the documentation it sounds like I can do it. Has anyone done this? Hi Kerry, The issue here is that the TSM backup server (AIX? NT/Win2K?) won't be able to understand the WAFL filesystem structure. So the most that is theoretically possible is a raw LUN block dump (I don't think TSM supports that anyway). What exactly do you mean by "SAN client"? If by that you mean that you have virtualised disks (LUNs managed by the filer accessed via VLD, iSCSI or FCP) that are stored on your filer then yes, TSM may be able to mount the LUN as it will use a filesystem layout that such as NTFS or JFS that TSM will understand. If however you mean FC block I/O access to a WAFL filesystem - which is what your post implies - then no, and it makes no sense to try. This is where NDMP will provide more value depending on the TSM version you are running. If you can post to toasters or email me directly with more detailed configuration information (TSM version, OS versions, network configuration etc.) then I or someone else here can help with more specific advice. What you probably want to do is give your filer a FC connection to your tape library so TSM can use NDMP to manage a "local" backup to the tape library from the filer. You will need to be careful with zoning on your FC switches. Also, only the Vixel 8100-NAS and some Brocade models of FC switch are officialy supported by NetApp for this configuration. (doesn't mean it won't work with other switches of course). AFAIK TSM 5 and later support this. An alternative is to add a couple of NIC's and provide a dedicated [crossover, or through switch with jumbo frame support] gigabit link between the filer and the TSM server. Set your MTU size to 9014 bytes for this link, and use an IP range that does not exist on your LAN to prevent route table issues. (i.e. if your LAN is say 10.x.y.z use 192.168.y.z for the dedicated link). You should be able to get over 30MB/sec for NDMP transfers over this link, more than enough to keep an AIT3, SDLT or LTO drive busy. Hi Steve; As I mentioned on the phone, I have duplicated this issue and created BUG 99740. I will monitor the progress of this bug and provide engineering with whatever they need. Also, I was unable to duplicate the overwriting of a qtree in my initial tests. Also, I was not able to pull from the sansrvnas10 (F825), only push from sansrvnas01 (F740). I looked at ndmpcopy man pages and it says you must use the -f flag if you wanted the /etc directory copied, which I don't because they are not the same type system, but even that would not have created a empty etc directory.
