NDMP backup snapshots ever go away?

I'm doing NDMP backups of my F760 Filers and I'm noticing an ever-increasing list of snapshots-for-backup accumulating. It depends on your ONTAP version. I had to upgrade our 740 recently from 5.3.6r1 to 6.1.1r2 to allow me to delete these annoying snapshots. f760 motherboard memory

hi, i want to buy some spare DIMMS. does anyone use memory not purchased from netapp? are there reasons to only use netapp mem? what are the specs on the DIMM? the price netapp is quoting me for the 256MB DIMM is surprising and all i have been told is 256MB DIMM which is not enough to find memory from an outside source. thanks

NFS ports and firewalls

NDMP backup to Veritas NBU keep snapshots?

I am curious if it is possible for NDMP backups of ONTAP 6.x filers to Veritas NetBackup Datacenter 3.4.x can store the snapshot (and any differing files from current) heirarchy on the tape and image index as well. I have worked up quota notification scripts for users, qtrees, and Global Groups under NT. I will be releasing these by the end of the month to all who would like a copy. I'm in the process of documenting the scripts and cleaning them up. Just an FYI, I use Legato Networker to do NDMP backups but have seen similar behavior with incremental/differential backups as a result of running Antivirus software against a volume. Michael

FYI FWIW: If you are interested in characterizing your filesystem(s) in terms of number of files, size of dirs, depth of dirs, etc. you might take a look at my yadu (Yet Another DU) tool which slices-n-dices the filesystem like a Ronko-Matic on late night Ktel TV! ;-) You can find it at: http://www.komar.org/ -> Misc. Tech Stuff -> Yadu I got some excellent help from this list on my recent question about syslogging the auditlog stuff (Jay asked to do the summary and you'll probably see it in a few days), so least I can do is offer that as a means of thanx. alek P.S. WRT misc. discussions about ignore_ctime, we found that we had to do this also in order for the Netbackup incrementals to not get outa hand since the Virus scanning tool ended up tweeking this.
