What mike really means to say is:
ifconfig e0 mediatype 100tx-fd
I've found in the past that the Cisco switchs won't immediately recognize the change in speed of the thing it's plugged into... try changing the speed to 100 full duplex on both sides, and then unplug and replug the port.

What is problem here?
Filer = F720 DataOnTap = 5.3.7R1 Quad 10/100 Network Card Mediatype on the network port is not auto. I have tried
auto and it does
not help.
set it to fd-100-tx on the filer
tell the cisco to be 100 full duplex
does that make a difference?
