First, and if possible, I would recommend that you upgrade to the latest GA (5.3.7R3). Next, if you have the credentials of a user with "Add Workstations to Domain" privileges, you can try using machacct tool from NetApp (see here: http://now.netapp.com/NOW/download/tools/machacct/) For your problem of users not able to connect to the Filer in workgroup mode, I think you would have to create a user account on the Filer for each domain user, and with the same password! You can find valuable info in the tech library here: http://www.netapp.com/tech_library/3148.html Last thing regarding you new domain: it seems to me that you must run at least DOT 6.1 to be able to join an AD domain.

access the filer, How do you create local users on the filer so that

can logon with that credentials. Or can somebody suggest me a better

way

of accessing the filer.
