You need to enable "user shares" in the Tools->options->network tab. It's also often a good idea to create a special backup share on a snapshot. See section 5.1 of http://www.netapp.com/tech_library/3052.html http://www.netapp.com/tech_library/3052.html for more on this.

We have a 740 filer running 5.3.7R2 in a Winnt environment. We are wanting to use Veritas 8.5 Backup Exec to backup our filer. From the Backup Exec console we can see the root volume as an administrative share (C$) and can click on the check box, but the other two volumes that we created are grayed out (D$ and E$). We are able to map to the C$, D$, and E$ from a NT Workstation. Volumes have been exported. Anyone have some experience to share?
Have a prosperous and profitable day!
