It could be your network cards we experienced the same issue years ago and replacing the network cards on our windows servers solved it.

Even many MS docs have dropped references to SMB, or will say something like "...CIFS (formerly SMB)...."

I’ve tried different NICS, Broadcom, intel, HP. This same issue occurs with a straight crossover cable from a laptop to the filer.
