does OT5.3.6R2 have support for AIT-2 devices? thanks!

Sure does. I have a few customers with Spectralogic Bullfrogs connected to filers. The AIT-2 drives are pretty fast. Thus customer is seeing about 13 MB/s ( compressed) per drive.
