Dilbert, thanks. You made me realize that TrendMicro E-manager filter isnt working right on my exchange server. Kudos.

Well, your choice of username/email address and anonymity certainly make /me/ take you more seriously than if I knew who you were, your history, and your relationship with all three companies.
( Yes, I work for Netapp, but I'm just a sysadmin for the engineering labs and not a heavy direct user. Standard disclaimers of unofficial opinions apply, as implied by using my personal email address. )

Obviously nobody here has really touched one from the statements made. I have and have done direct compare between IP4700 (EMC) and 840 as well as the BlueArc box and it is very refreshing. It is true that some of the feature set is not there yet but they do have NDMP and unlike Netcrap, back-ups online don't crash the server. I have done my own IOmeter tests with various settings using some FreeBSD clients and this thing blows away 840 and IP4700. IP4700 is a joke
anyway.
Those who are in doubt (as I was) need to check these guys out because
they
are really onto something huge here. We are talking about eliminating the
bottlenecks that exist in ALL server architecture today and reaching the next level of speed. I am not talking out-my-ass here...check 'em out!
See
for yourslef and don't listen to the dinks from Netcrap or Evil Machine Corporation EMC! If you do manage to get a beta unit as some have, make sure you get the failover cluster because this works much better than anything I have seen yet....
Wish they had snapshot though...
