Hi, I finally received a new F760 filer but failed to realize that the built-in tape interface will be differential.
All of my current filers have dedicated ADIC 224 libraries with DLT7000 fast/wide tape drives.
Q: I need to be able to connect the new F760 to the existing tape library. Does anyone know if there is a host adapter (fast/wide) that I can plug into the F760? If not, then my second thought was a passive differential to single-ended adapter. Does anyone have any experience with that? The backup software is NetBackup.
Thanks, George

We did the opposite and hooked up a single-ended F330 host adapter to a fast-wide-differential DLT7000 using a SE/Diff converter from Parallan (sp?). It worked like a charm!
Only problem was strapping the converter into the rack. It was hanging by some velcro straps and required external power through a little transformer. Not much to look at.
NetApp told us they couldn't say it would work. So weak in faith are some. =)
