Hi,
IPv6 support in ONTAP has be there for a while, but is anyone really using it? and in production? I asked NetApp (the local Swedish office in Stockholm) and they tried to asked both their integrators and internally in NetApp worldwide to see if anyone knew about any customers running ONTAP and IPv6 enabled, but only got "no" as answer or no feedback at all. That was disappointing...
So does anyone on the list run IPv6 on their NetApp(s)? or know of any other NetApp customer that enabled IPv6? We're starting to use it (on ONTAP 8.1 GA), but it would be comforting if we where not the only ones using it...
Thx, /P
Guessing from the hiatus it took in 8.0 that adoption is pretty weak. We were getting ready to ramp up before that change put it on hold.
We'll start doing limited deployments soon, so any caveats you find are appreciated. :)
I'm not terribly concerned about the data plane as much as things like how consistently features prefer AAAA's vs. A's (i.e. given an RR set containing both, which will snapmirror use?).
