Thinking about it though, I'm guessing that these env variables probably only apply to DAR and not ndmpcopy.

grepping through what ndmp is passing by default to dump reveals:
dump.java: default_env.put("NO_ACLS", "N"); dump.java: default_env.put("EXTRACT_ACL", "Y");
So I'd assume you could flip these, not that I've personally tried
it.
