What causes a filer to terminate and then reconnect to a domain controller?

For instance:

Mon Jul 2 21:36:10 EDT [rc:info]: Connection with DC \DC1 terminated Mon Jul 2 21:37:39 EDT [CIFSAdmin:info]: Connection with DC \DC2 established

In addition, the service reporting either a termination or establishment seems to vary. My current logs show both coming from:

[CIFSAdmin:info]: [CIFSAdmin]: [CIFSAuthen:info]: [CIFSAuthen]: [GbE-II/e5:info]: [GbE-III/e4:info]: [GbE-e5]: [rc:info]: [rc]:

What's the difference? What's the algorithm behind it?
