My one gripe about filers in this regard is that it's not possible to manipulate the power supply remotely. All of our other servers (HP 9000s and Netservers) allow me to literally power them down and bring them back up again. Very handy in the unlikely event of the machine completely locking up.
One thing we do here locally is we purchased IP addressable power strips. Most of the major power guys sell them these days and that allows us to power cycle and filer head, shelf, switch, whatever regardless of whether the box head, shelf, etc. has the capability.
I'll feed back this feedback into the remote supportability group. I'm sure they are already thinking about it, but it never hurts.
