Hi Scott:
We use a Task Scheduler job under Win2000 to run snapshots. We snapshot once a day, and defer the verification until off-business hours because it's such a resource hog. We back up the snapshot directories as normal file systems, WITHOUT USING our backup software's Exchange agents. We typically keep 3-4 snapshots on the filer at a time. Through the command-line options of snap manager, you can tell it how many snapshots you want to keep. This is a newer feature than from 1.0...
Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Hi ... Can someone who is using the filer with Exchange and SnapManager for Exchange please enlighten me on managing snapshots. What I mean is how do you perform snapshots?; how often do you snapshot?; how do you backup your snapshots?; how many snapshots do you keep?; etc, etc, etc. Thanks a lot. - Scott W. scott.waters@sbccom.apgea.army.mil
