A simple workgroup (non-domain mode) case is easy to use - your PCs just authenticate using /etc/passwd or NIS, and you just need to change the Registry of your PCs to re-enable clear-text password.

I was talking about Netapp. It's no big deal, just something to be aware of; if you start to run low on inodes you can just make more.
