Who's using cluster failover? We're thinking of doing it with 2 F760's, about 1TB total. Can anyone relate any pluses/minuses of such a configuration?
Thanks,
Moshe

Moshe,
This is an easy one to justify if you are in a high usage environment in which zero down time is desired. The first time that you need to replace a mother board, FCAL, or NIC in your system it will pay for itself. The reason is because these types of operations may be performed in failover mode so there is no downtime to your customers.
Now I know the anal retentive patrol is out there. My filers are NFS only and even the ~2 minutes it takes to failover is not reported by my customers. These were the same customers who told one of my VPs that my filers were always down and I proved a 99.95% uptime. This was back when we had several problems including a bad air handler in our computer room.
