how do you tell what version of ndmp your filer is running? the ndmp log on my f760 5.36.r2, i think, says ver 2.
Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Created an NDMP server connection Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Message NDMP_NOTIFY_CONNECTED sent Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Message Header: Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Sequence 1 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Timestamp 984005514 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Msgtype 0 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Method 1282 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: ReplySequence 0 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Error NDMP_NO_ERR Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: Reason: 0 Mar 07 10:51:54 [ndmpd:60]: version: 2 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
is looking in the log the only way? it does not show on "ndmpd status."
also, if i am on ver 2, what advantages will i get when i turn on ver 3?
thanks.

You can use "ndmpd version n" to set the version (where n is 1, 2 or 3). I haven't found a switch on ndmpd version to just give status.
