and look for your version of Oracle. The info for Oracle8 on a NetApp cluster is generally still valid for Oracle7.

We're moving to NetApp storage for our Oracle database (Sun E6500) and have a single F760 with 4 36GB shelves - about 1TB raw (I know usable storage will be way less than this). We will be moving to a cluster in about 4 months, but wish to use as a semi-live development environment in the meantime.
What is a recommended volume configuration for this sort of situation ? Current thoughts on our end are two physical volumes, two shelves in each, and split each physical volume into two qtrees/mountpoints. Once we have the cluster partner, we would expect to move one of the physicalvolumes to the new head, and spread load across them.
What are other people doing here ?
