The only problem with that is you are limited to how many netapps you can connect to a PC. We have 4 netapps, so are there pieces of hardware out there that we could install in a cheap pc that would allow us more console connections? Also, what are the specifications on the cable and connection into the netapp? Is it just a standard console cable? Is it the same as Sun hardware?

Console cable to Unix/Windows server. Telnet/"Terminal Server" to server.

I think it would be really nice to have something like this setup so that we could get console access to our netapps via the network. I'm curious as to what's available and what other people have setup to accomplish this. The cheaper the better.
Thanks Dan
Same cable as for a sun A/B port. Serial cable plus null modem, and a 25-to-9 y maybe. A pin status indicator is also useful for setup, it'll show activity on the cable and whether your tx is being rd'd. <generic radio shack disclaimer goes here>
