we will be configuring two aix servers as a backup to each other, with a 740 having the database files NFS mounted on the two aix servers. we will define the same oracle 7.3.4 instance to each machine and only one will be active, the second instance only to be started if the primary aix server is dead. if the primary instance is already running, will there be a locking mechanism that will prevent the other instance from starting up? this is to see if there is a possiblity of corruption if someone makes a mistake and starts the second instance when the primary is already running
