Many of the commands that are only rsh-able via the rc_toggle_basic are such because they are not necessarily *safe* to be rsh-ed commands. So I generally would not think of this as solving your problem, unless you're willing to live with possible crashes and other undefined behavior as a result under the right conditions.

The true solution is to upgrade to a release that supports that command through rsh.
