It seems that .1Q isn't supported on the 760's onboard 100mbit interface and that only the "FastEnet-10/100 Ethernet Controller" will do it (besides the gige ints). Is this the onboard for the 840, or is it orderable as a separate part#?
Since I don't have the extra interfaces to play with, does anyone know if a VIF made up of vlan'able interfaces can also be vlaned? Rolling all of our interfaces into a VIF then VLAN'ing that would be beautiful, but I don't want to go to the trouble having someone persue it if its not currently feasible.
Also, does anyone know the difference in the GigE II and GigE III? I know the I was an Alteon, the II is an Intel, how about the III? I was wondering about jumbo framing in a VIF, and noticed the SAG said jumbo frames were available on a trunked GbE II -- should this reead Gb III instead? since the GbE II only does 1500 in standalone, why would the the limitation go away in a vif?
Docs also state that mixed MTU's are unsupported. While this makes sense for a multimode trunk, it wouldn't seem to be necessary for a singlemode (ie, the vif adopts the mtu of the active interface). Does Ontap enfore the lowest mtu of all interfaces irregardless of trunk mode?
Thanks..
