I'm doing some information gathering on NAS and would appreciate it if anyone could take the time to answer these few, very brief questions:
1. Approximately what percentage of your production data is actually used for cross-platform file sharing? 2. Please rank the following reasons for using NAS in terms of their order of importance to you (with "1" being the Most important; "3" the least important) a. Cross-platform file sharing b. Ease of use c. Cost 3. What concerns, if any, do you have about your Network Attached Storage? 4. Are you currently considering deploying SANs for your storage requirements? If so, can you estimate when you might deploy a SAN?
Thanks very much for your consideration.

I'm doing some information gathering on NAS and would appreciate it if anyone could take the time to answer these few, very brief questions:
- Approximately what percentage of your production data is actually
used for cross-platform file sharing?
110%
- Please rank the following reasons for using NAS in terms of their
order of importance to you (with "1" being the Most important; "3" the least important) a. Cross-platform file sharing b. Ease of use c. Cost
c. - 1 b. - e a. - pi
- What concerns, if any, do you have about your Network Attached
Storage?
I'm concerned my Network Attached Storage will have its Mailing List spammed by The Competition.
- Are you currently considering deploying SANs for your storage
requirements?
No.
If so, can you estimate when you might deploy a SAN?
When Network Appliance offers it. :)
