You are correct, this will only work if the DLT drive is located in the fcal loop, which is not likely unless John is using an SCSI/FCAL bridge. We are using NDMP fiber channel backup, and had problems reconnecting without rebooting the filer. D

i thought is just working w/ fc-adapters ?!
resetting an fc-adapter w/ connected tapedrives over an fc-switch is working fine, after eg. tapedrive replacement.

Is it possible to rescan the SCSI bus on an F760 without rolling the filer? We just direct-attached some DLT7000 drives and don't want to suffer an outage to make them work. (hundreds of CIFS connections... Oracle, Exchange, homedirs oh my!)
