Hi
With loads of doubt from our oracle department, we tested and tried snapmirror with 4 versions of oracle all running on solaris 2.6 All with great success. Recommend adding a snap shot done at one time during the night, when the database is in backup mode to have a definite backup. Also, if you want protection from user intervention, make the schedule on snap mirror to run once an hour so you have some time difference (async mirror) which is sometimes quite handy.

Hi,
we use operating system Solaris 8 on arbitrary SUN-hardware and Oracle 8.1.5 or higher and NetApp-ONTAB 5.3 (or higher) and want to use the snapmirror & cluster-technologie for Oracle-datafiles exactly as described in the technical documents TR3046 & TR3057 of Network Appliance. Network Appliance states that the fully support this! Has anyone positiv or negativ experience concerning this subject??!!
with kind regards
