It depends on the application you are planning to integrate with Filer. For instance multiple volumes for database environment enable you to use snaprestore efficiently. Putting the datafiles to another volume and seperating the root volume, provides flexibility.

Does anyone out there has any thoughts on the pros and cons regrading whether or not is a good idea to create a separate two disks vol0 for the root volume on the Netapp Filer ?
