Do the F720, F740 & F760 filers use the same spares kit, or are there different ones for each one?

The only difference that I am aware of is simply the motherboard component. Otherwise, they should be the same.

So, I should buy an F760 spares kit for my F740 then right? That way, when the motherboard fails (again), I get an automatic upgrade. :-)

No.
The different motherboards are keyed, so that cannot work.
Only a 740 motherboard goes into a 740 chassis.
